All domestic insuring companies for plans written by Alive Risk Ltd. are A.M. Best "A" rated companies. The companies will vary depending on the product, but most often the underwriting company is stated in the introduction of the coverage.

Effective March 2012, HHS (Health and Human Services) mandated that all International Student Plans for full time college students must comply with the ACA Regulations. Short Term Duration Coverage is not subject to ACA Regulations. Short Term Duration means coverage for a minimum of 1 month to a maximum of 11 months. Short Term Duration Coverage includes coverage for Study Abroad programs and short term travel abroad.

The average turnaround time for claim payment, if all the complete documentation is submitted is 15 days. If complete documentation is not submitted and is requested by the claim department, the time varies. The claim cannot be processed until all requested documentation is received.

All the information and forms necessary to submit a claim can be found by clicking on the link below. All claims require itemized bills from the Provider along with any Explanation of Benefits (EOB's) if applicable.

If paying by credit card, your insurance will be effective the day AFTER payment is received and processed. If you need to enroll in the plan, but do not need it to be effective yet, you need to enter the date you would like the plan to start.
